An eatery has been handed a two-star food hygiene rating in the latest set of scores for establishments across the county.

The Food Standards Agency is in charge of inspecting and rating hospitality venues on a zero to five scale, zero is the lowest score and five is the highest.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to four South Oxfordshire establishments, one Vale of White Horse restaurant and a Cherwell takeaway.

The Vale of White Horse restaurant has been handed a new two-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Al Mulino/Tripoli Lebanese restaurant at 9 Bath Street, Abingdon was given the score after the assessment on January 31.

It means that of the Vale of White Horse's 184 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 128 (70%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.

Cherwell takeaway, Queensway Fish Shop, has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

The takeaway at 63 Mewburn Road, Banbury, Oxfordshire was given the score after assessment on February 28.

It means that of Cherwell's 102 takeaways with ratings, 59 (58 per cent) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.

In South Oxfordshire, the following ratings have been given to four restaurants, pubs or takeaways.

The Lamb Inn (Little Milton) Ltd at High Street, Little Milton, has been rated five-out-of-five after a visit on March 30

The Cherry Tree Inn at Cherry Tree, Stoke Row, Henley-On-Thames has been handed a four-out-of-five rating after an assessment on February 28.

James Figg at 21 Cornmarket, Thame, has received a five-out-of-five after a rating on March 29

The Chippy at 12 Upper High Street, Thame has been handed a new five-out-of-five food hygiene rating after an assessment on March 30.
