A man has been jailed for breaching a restraining order by sending unwanted presents and leaving over 60 voicemails to his victim.
Stewart Hayes, aged 40, of The Paddocks, Bampton, pleaded guilty to the offence in a hearing at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (March 28).
Between January and March, without a reasonable excuse, Hayes sent 62 voicemails, two emails and a friend request on a mobile app to his victim.

He also sent the victim unwanted presents, which he was prohibited from doing by a restraining order imposed by the same court on July 6, 2021.
Hayes was arrested on Monday (March 27) and charged the following day.
He has been jailed for 20 weeks.
PC Sarah Finch, based at Witney police station, said: “A restraining order was put in place against Hayes for very good reasons, and he chose to flout that by making unwanted further contact with his victim.
“We will not tolerate flagrant breaches of legal orders such as this, and will seek to prosecute those who show a complete disregard to these.
“Hayes will now have to serve a prison sentence as a result of these actions, during which I hope he reflects on his behaviour.”
