A boy has appeared in court accused of raping a girl in a Kidlington park.
The 15-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was before Oxford Youth Court on Wednesday (March 29) facing a single charge of rape.
The offence was allegedly committed in Exeter park, Kidlington, in 2021.
He was not asked to enter a plea to the allegation and District Judge Kamlesh Rana sent the matter to the crown court for trial.
The boy is expected before a judge at Oxford Crown Court on April 27 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
Peter Ryman appeared for the Crown Prosecution Service at the short hearing on Wednesday. The defendant was represented by Phil Kouvaritakis.
