Strong gusts of wind caused parts of the roof of a shopping centre in Didcot to fly off.
The incident occurred at the Next store in the Orchard Centre on Station Road at about 2.30pm today (March 27).
Firefighters were called to the shopping centre.
Watch manager Jon Walker cordoned off the area, assessed the scene and the crew inspected the damage via a ladder to begin with.
Subsequently, the assistance of a hydraulic platform was requested in order to make it as safe as possible for crews to work at height and to resolve the incident.
The store was able to resume trading at around 4:30pm this afternoon.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue were contacted for comment about the incident.
A spokesperson said: "Oxfordshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service were called at 14:00, to Next Retail, 34 Orchard Street, Didcot, OX11 7LG.
"One fire appliance attended from Didcot Fire Station, and one hydraulic platform from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
"Fire and rescue officers removed a ten metre long section of fascia board that had become lose and dangerous, caused due to weather conditions.
"They departed the scene at 16:08."
