A 21-year-old woman who was arrested at the Westgate Centre has now been charged with theft.
The woman has been remanded in police custody and will be presented to the next available court, which isn’t until Monday morning (March 27).
The arrest was made on Friday (March 24) during a police patrol of the shopping centre, which has followed on from an increase in reports of pickpockets and thefts.

As a result of the patrols, the 21-year-old was stopped, searched and then arrested for offences relating to theft.
After the arrest, a spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “This operation will be running all week and there will be an increased police presence in and around the area.”
