CELEBRITY chef Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons has been named of the most 'Instagrammable' Michelin star restaurants in the UK.

The restaurant at Great Milton in south Oxfordshire has two Michelin stars and foodies travel from miles around to enjoy the finest French cuisine as well as show it off on their social media.

With the new Michelin Star guide due to be announced on March 27, a new study has revealed a top 15 list of the most ‘Instagrammable Michelin star restaurants in the UK’.

The study, which was carried out by travel brand The Thinking Traveller, looked at hashtag data and found that the Oxfordshire-based restaurant ranked 12 with 5,344 hashtags.

Antoine Levy, sales and marketing director, at The Thinking Traveller, said:  “Chefs have an adage - ‘you eat with your eyes first’. Thanks to Instagram, this couldn’t be more true, as this interaction starts before restaurant-goers are even at the table.

“Michelin-star chefs and restaurants spend years accomplishing the perfect mix of flavours and techniques combined with presentation to create the ultimate fine dining experience. “

Last year,  plans for a £36 million expansion of the hotel and restaurant were given the green light.

The proposals at Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons included a new wellness spa, bistro and garden villas – but were only narrowly supported by councillors.

The motion was passed by South Oxfordshire District Council’s planning committee, with five votes in favour, four against and one abstention.

Addressing councillors at the meeting, Mr Blanc said the expansion plans will allow Le Manoir to offer ‘unique and world-class experiences’ to customers.

He said: “It is now 38 years that I’ve been the chef patron at Le Manoir. It is important we are an employer and an integral part of the community.

“Le Manoir has long been a pioneer of sustainability within the hospitality industry and that won’t stop.”

A new bus service was also welcomed by the chef last year with one of the stops being the hotel and restaurant.

Oxford Bus Company, Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons and Oxfordshire County Council linked up to deliver major improvements to bus service 46.

The improvements saw the Cowley to Wheatley route expanded significantly.

The service now delivers a regular public transport link to Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, which allows diners to leave their cars at home and improves transport connections for staff at the site.
