A County Lines drug dealer caught selling heroin and crack cocaine in Banbury was said to been buying designer clothing.

Roshan Walker, 25, of West Norwood, London, was due to stand trial at Oxford Crown Court this week accused of possession with intent to supply the two class A drugs on February 18 last year.

But on Monday (March 20) his barrister, Stephen Akinsanya, asked for the Londoner to be asked to re-enter his pleas. He admitted both offences.

The plea was entered on a basis, although the signed document was not read into the record at Monday’s hearing.

Prosecuting, Laura Hollingbery said of the basis of plea that it was the Crown’s case that the defendant ‘may’ have been under some pressure to deal drugs ‘initially’.

However, she told the court that the evidence suggested he was buying ‘massive amounts of designer clothing and there is no evidence of legitimate sources of income’.

Recorder John Bate-Williams adjourned the case for the preparation of pre-sentence reports. Walker was bailed to return to court on April 28.

The judge warned the defendant against holding out too much hope from the fact the matter was being adjourned for the preparation of probation reports.

“Every day we see good and useful lives ruined – and I mean ruined – by drugs and that is why drug cases are at the top of the criminal calendar,” he said.

“You must be under no illusion that the clear likelihood is that you will be given a custodial sentence.”
