Jeremy Clarkson is not in attendance at his planning appeal hearing this morning (March 14).

The former Top Gear star is facing a key meeting that will determine the fate of planning applications at Diddly Squat Farm.

West Oxfordshire District Council previously refused applications for a car park and a restaurant at Mr Clarkson’s farm in Chadlington.

Cars have since been seen queuing on the road outside of Diddly Squat Farm when the farm shop re-opened last month.

Scenes of clashes between the council and Mr Clarkson appeared in season two of the Amazon Prime Video hit series.

The council rejected the application on the basis that the restaurant and car park were not consistent with the area in question that is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty.

Mr Clarkson attended the first hearing last year when his planning application was rejected.

His lawyers have since appealed against the decision to the planning inspectorate.

The hearing is taking place at the West Oxfordshire District Council offices on March 14.

The procedures are open to members of the public.

Charlie Ireland is in attendance and has stated he will be dealing with farming and local economy matters in relation to the application.

Mr Ireland, also known as ‘Cheerful Charlie’ in Clarkson’s Farm has been a regular on the series.

He has dealt with logistical and legal matters for the farm.
