The Beira, a new, British-built two-seater V8-engined sports car, has just been unveiled by Norfolk-based Breckland Technology.

The 6.0-litre, 400 horsepower roadster is based on General Motors' Kappa platform, which is sold in North America, and uses the petrol engine found in GM's Corvette and Pontiac GTO models.

It can hit 62mph in under five seconds, and go on to a governed top speed of 155mph - all for a price of about £55,000. It can also run on LPG, too, with a 70-litre LPG capacity alongside the 60-litre petrol tank.

Breckland - part of Hong Kong-based multi-national, Riche Holdings - is vastly experienced in the development and production of high-quality, low volume specialist cars and prototypes for an array of international clients, including Mosler. The firm already has orders for the Beira, which will be available in Britain from November. Visit www.brecklandtechnology.com for more details.
