A man will stand trial in the summer accused of wounding a boy in Kidlington.

Carl Douglas, 42, is said to have threatened the child with an imitation handgun and assaulted him at the junction of Bicester Road and Oxford Road on January 26.

At the time, police said the boy required hospital treatment for injuries to his face.

Appearing before Oxford Crown Court on Thursday (March 9), Gordon, of Belgrove Close, Kidlington, pleaded not guilty to causing grievous bodily harm. He admitted possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Recorder Samantha Presland fixed the trial for July 5. The case is expected to last two days.

He was remanded in custody.
