With much of the UK expecting snow fall over the coming week, it is expected that Oxfordshire will be no exception.

Light snow showers are forecast in parts of the county in the early morning of both Tuesday and Thursday.

The BBC has forecast that a light snow shower will hit Oxford at around 9am on Tuesday when temperatures will feel as low as -3 degrees.

On Thursday, light snow and a gentle breeze is expected in Banbury between 6am and 7am but this is also not expected to settle.

But the Met Office has issued an amber cold weather alert level three between 9am today (Monday, March 6) and 11.59pm on Thursday, March 9.

The fire service has said "very cold weather is expected with widespread frosts overnight".

There will be mean temperatures of 2C or less with the potential for widespread ice and heavy snow.
