A drunken driver was arrested at a Mcdonald's drive-through last night and spent the night in the cells, according to Thames Valley Police (TVP).

The South Oxon and Vale of White Horse branch of TVP were alerted to the driver who was at the McDonald's in Abingdon.

After officers arrived on the scene, the driver failed a breath test and was then arrested and spent the night in custody.

A TVP social media post said: "Officers were alerted to a drink driver in the drive through at McDonald's Abingdon.
