POLICE are appealing for information after jewellery, worth about £4,000, was stolen by burglars who broke into a house in Great Coxwell.

The raid happeneed between midnight on June 3 and 5.30pm on June 5.

Det Con Chris Leech, based at Abingdon police station, said: "The burglars tried to get in by attempting to force open a wooden framed door and when they were inside they closed the curtains.

"I would suggest that the thieves could have been in the area for a while and would urge anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area to contact me.
