Dozens of road closures across Oxfordshire this week

OXFORD

Drivers in and around Oxford will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A34, from 8pm December 2 2022 to 6am March 11 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 northbound, Botley to Peartree, carriageway closure for structures maintenance, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.

• A34, from 6am August 1 2022 to 11.59pm September 30 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound and southbound, Peartree Interchange, Lane closures on the exit slips for Oxfordshire County Council works.

And a further two closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A34, from 8pm February 6 to 6am February 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 both directions Peartree to Islip, Lane closures for barrier repairs.

• M40, from 9pm February 17 to 5am February 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M40 northbound, junction 8a to junction 9, Lane closures for maintenance work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.

CHERWELL

Cherwell's motorists will have 44 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And nine of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M40, from 9pm February 5 to 5am February 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M40 southbound, junction 10 to junction 9, Lane closures for maintenance works.

• A43, from 9.30pm February 5 to 5am February 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M40 southbound, junction 10, entry slip road closure for maintenance work, diversion via National Highways Network.

• M40, from 9pm February 5 to 5am February 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M40 northbound, junction 9 to junction 10, Lane closures for maintenance works.

• A34, from 6am August 1 2022 to 11.59pm September 30 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound and southbound, Peartree Interchange, Lane closures on the exit slips for Oxfordshire County Council works.

WEST OXFORDSHIRE

West Oxfordshire's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And five of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A43, from 9.30pm February 5 to 5am February 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M40 southbound, junction 10, entry slip road closure for maintenance work, diversion via National Highways Network.
