The Women’s Institute is more than 100 years old, with groups still active in many Oxfordshire towns and villages.
Oxford Mail photographers have spent many hours over the years recording their events, which have involved not only women members but their families and friends as well.
Caroline Bodinham, four, and her two-year-old brother Jonathan appear in Picture 1 with a cuddly breed of lions created by Leafield WI near Witney.

Members had intended to make one giant stuffed toy lion, but got carried away and ended with a pride of 10.
Deputy president Sue Bodinham, the children’s mother, said: “We got a bit carried away and just kept on making them.”
The lions were put on display and sold at a WI craft show at London Olympia in 1984, with the money going to WI funds.
There may have been frost on the ground, but that didn’t stop members at Sutton Courtenay, near Abingdon, planting 120 daffodil and narcissus bulbs.
Picture 2 shows, left to right, Daphne Sinclair, Patricia White and Joyce Fenn braving freezing temperatures in 1983.
They spent two hours planting on a grass island in High Street as the branch’s contribution to Beautiful Britain Year.
A tombola stall was one of the attractions at the annual WI County Day at Kiddington Hall, near Woodstock, home of Sir Laurence and Baroness Robson, in 1982.

The County Day in 1979 was held at St Catherine’s College in Oxford and coincided with the Oxfordshire WI diamond jubilee.
In Picture 4, Dorothy Atkinson, left, of Wallingford, is seen showing visitors how to make paper flowers.
The WI produce day at Exeter Hall, Kidlington, in 1985, produced plenty of floral smells.
