A girl was followed from a park by a teenager in a balaclava and forced to hand over her phone.

The robbery happened between 5pm and 6pm on Monday January 23, when the victim, a girl in her teens, was approached by a man in a small park off Ferriston and Ironstones in Banbury.

The man followed her out of the park, and told her to hand over her phone.

When she initially refused, the offender threatened her.

The victim then gave the man her Red iPhone SE.

The offender ran off in the direction of Highlands with the phone.

He is described as a white teenager of slim build.

He was wearing a black and grey Trapstar coat, black and grey Trapstar tracksuit bottoms with writing on them, a black ski mask balaclava, black gloves and a silver necklace.

Investigating officer PC Craig Naylor said: “I am appealing to anybody who may have been in the area at around the time of the incident to contact Thames Valley Police if you believe you witnessed any suspicious activity."
