Multiple fire trucks were spotted outside an Oxfordshire shopping centre this morning.

Officials with the Grand Village Imperial Chinese restaurant at Bicester Shopping Park, Kelso Road, confirmed they had a ‘little fire in the kitchen.’

Officials from the Chinese restaurant said it would likely be closed for the rest of the day.

The restaurant posted the following message about the fire on its Facebook page:

"Due to minor fire accident in the kitchen and some damage to our equipment.

"We are unable to open today.

"Sorry for any inconveniences caused.

"To everyone who has made a reservation with us today. We are terribly sorry that we will not be able to accommodate you. We will be working hard with our contractors to reopen as soon as we can.

"Once again Sorry for any inconvenience caused."

A woman on the way to the gym this morning said: “I was heading to the gym, the road behind it was closed and I saw two fire engines and lots of smoke coming out of the side vent.

“The gym was shut and staff and customers were all outside when I arrived.”

The Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service was contacted for comment.
