Hundreds of Japanese classic and performance cars joined Scramblers at Bicester Heritage on Sunday, January 29 for the first Assembly of 2023.
‘Japanese January’ was the first running of a revamped event format for Scramblers, with tickets sold in advance only to members of the Bicester Heritage-based automotive club.
Children under the age of 15 are admitted free of charge, underlining the site’s focus of bringing the next generation into the classic car hobby.

A brand new Toyota GR Supra from the manufacturer took the feature spot in the motor transport yard along with an early Mazda MX-5 from the Mazda UK heritage fleet, while elsewhere a faithful replica of a 2006 Subaru Impreza World Rally Championship entrant drew a continuous crowd.
Bicester Heritage auction partner Collecting Cars made its debut assembly appearance, too, displaying its striking Toyota GR Yaris – one of many in attendance.
Rarities included a trio of Nissan 200ZXs and seven Honda Insights outside Motor Spirit, including that of company founder Guy Lachlan.
Two Subaru Impreza 22Bs, of just 400 made worldwide, joined the displays among a feast of Japanese exotica.
The pick of the event was the Mitsubishi homologation specials of Pajero Evo towing a Lancer Evo VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition.
February’s Assembly takes place at Bicester Heritage on Sunday 26, with Fords taking centre stage.
Tickets are £5 per person, available from scramblers.bicesterheritage.co.uk/shop
