A man is thought to have been conducting distraction thefts whilst ‘offering young people work’.
Police received a report of a suspicious incident in McDonalds, Lakeview Drive in Bicester on Monday (January 23).
A man had been approaching young customers and offering them work – police believe this was part of an attempted distraction theft.

Distraction theft is a crime in which someone steals something from another person after tricking them into giving their attention to something else.
There is also distraction burglary, which is when a person tries to gain access to a home by attempting to trick the homeowner into believing they need help, or that they are an official.
