Passengers are being warned they face further rail strikes.

There are two further days of industrial action taking place on Wednesday and Friday, and Great Western Railway, which runs trains from Oxford to London Paddington, is reminding commuters to check their travel plans beforehand.

The Aslef union, which represents train drivers, is taking action that will affect rail services on the two strike days, and a revised timetable will operate across several train operators, including GWR.

On strike days only a reduced service will operate on a limited number of routes, and many parts of the GWR network will have no service at all.

Oxford Mail:

A limited service, starting later and finishing earlier (between 0730 and approximately 1930), will run only on the following routes including:

London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads

Reading and Basingstoke

Reading and Oxford.

Trains that are operating will be busier than usual because we will not be able to offer the normal service frequency.

A spokesman for GWR said: "Unlike previous strikes, the days in between strike days and immediately after the last strike day will be largely unaffected and GWR expects to be able to operate a full level of service, with some very minor alterations.

"Online journey planners have been updated with the latest timetable information, please see the passenger information table for details.

Oxford Mail:

"Customers who have already bought tickets for strike days can claim a full refund or amend their ticket; those who travel and are delayed may be entitled to compensation if they are delayed by 15 minutes or more."

Season-ticket holders can apply for compensation through the Delay Repay scheme.

Chiltern Railways, which operates trains between Oxford Parkway and London Marylebone, is also warning passengers about the strikes.

Oxford Mail:

All Chiltern rail stations, including Oxford Parkway, will be closed on strike days.

There will be a handful of minor amendments and cancellations to late night services on Thursday, February 2 due to the strike action.
