A climate change exhibition has opened which hopes to address “ordinary people” taking action during “extraordinary times”.

The exhibition, being held at the Marcham Centre, near Abingdon, opened over the weekend and will run until Sunday, January 15.

Event organiser Beatrice Hoffman said: “The exhibition is intended for all kinds of people, who are often not aware of how urgent the situation is.

“People tend also not to be aware of how drastic the investment and changes need to be, and how many viable and affordable solution exist – including those on an individual level.

“The information is presented in a visually attractive, accessible and interesting way, with short summary texts in, quotations and suggestions for personal actions.”

The exhibition is open to all and requires no specialist knowledge to enjoy.

However, if visitors are interested, more thorough information will be available on the tables, and other sources and books below the tables.

Ms Hoffman added: “It is particularly useful for schools, colleges and universities, because it engages the heart more than dry academic paper, and thus drives the transition to becoming climate active.

“As this is a travelling exhibition, I would really like the people of Oxford to know about it, in the hope of finding new locations city and county wide.

“Any large and communal space would be suitable.”
