This is the face of a homeless burglar whose 12-month spree saw him steal dumbbells, children’s toys and office equipment.

Last year, after being remanded by the police and put before Oxford Magistrates’ Court, Konrad Peotrovskae told a district judge he felt ‘terrible’ about his catalogue of break-ins.

Asked if he was pleading guilty to the eight counts of burglary, the 35-year-old said through a Polish interpreter: “I feel terrible, but yes.”

He appeared before Oxford Crown Court on Friday, when Recorder Shamim Qureshi gave him 40 months’ imprisonment - the equivalent of three years and four months.

Year-long spree

Peotrovskae’s offending began on December 14, 2021, when he broke into a business in Parkway Court, Cowley, and made off with office equipment worth more than £10,800.

The following day he returned to the same office complex, stealing £3,000-worth of office equipment.

On December 28, he was back at the same business park. After breaking-in, he stole a server worth £3,564.

On April 4, he took a ‘large screen’ from another office building.

The next month, on May 17, he broke into the David Lloyd gym in Cowley and stole 20 dumbbells and ‘several weighted plates’. The value of the exercise equipment was ‘unknown'.

He burgled Fountain House on Oxford Business Park, Cowley, on June 6, stealing computer equipment, iPhones and other technological equipment worth £11,500.

On August 26, he broke into another business on John Smith Drive, on the Oxford Business Park, and took items worth £5,000.

His final burglary came on August 30, when he broke into a property in Crescent Road, Cowley, and made off with children’s toys, laptops, jewellery and other belongings worth £3,000.

Cannabis

When he was stopped on November 16, he was found in possession of a small amount of cannabis consistent with personal use.

Plea

Appearing before the magistrates’ court in November, Peotrovskae, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to eight counts of burglary and a charge of possession of cannabis.

He was originally meant to be sentenced at Oxford Crown Court in December, when District Judge Kamlesh Rana committed his case to the higher court to be dealt with by a circuit judge.

However, there was no Polish interpreter available for the hearing and the matter was adjourned until the new year.

He was eventually sentenced on Friday, when the case came before Recorder Qureshi.
