A MAN was taken to hospital after being punched and kicked inside an Oxford nightclub.

The attack took place in Atik in Park End Street at around 12.40am on July 5 last year.

The victim, a man in his 20s was involved in an altercation and was punched and kicked while on the floor.

He suffered a fractured eye socket which required hospital treatment before he was discharged. He was also left with swelling to the face.

And Thames Valley Police have only now released a CCTV image of some men who they believe may have witnessed the assault.

Investigating officer, PC Ashraful Kamalee based at Oxford police station, said: “This was a very serious assault which resulted in a man sustaining a serious injury.

“We are releasing these images as we believe that the men pictured may have witnessed the assault and could have information that could assist our investigation.

“I would also like to appeal for the people in the images to send any recording they may have of the incident and to come forward if they remember what happened.”

Police hope that anybody who witnessed the incident or have information about the assault will contact them quoting reference number 43220294331.
