A YELLOW weather warning has been put in place for Oxfordshire this weekend.

The Met Office has issued the warning for most the of the UK due to a period of rain and snow leading to frozen surfaces.

People are warned to expect some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces, probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, and a chance that road, air and rail services could be disrupted or delayed.

The warning is in place from 2am on Sunday (December 18) until 11am the same day.
