A LONG road in an Oxfordshire town is expected to be busy until tomorrow (Thursday, December 8) due to water works.

Thames Water have been carrying out the work on the B4016 Broadway in Didcot since yesterday (Tuesday, December 6).

A two-way traffic control signal has been put in place near Marsh Recreation Ground which is leading to delays on Hitchcock Way, Broadway, Jubilee Way and Hadden Hill.

Oxfordshire County Council, the highways authority, approved the work which has been described as ‘utility repair and maintenance works’.

It is expected to finish tomorrow at midnight.

Oxon Travel, the highways authority’s traffic management team, has warned motorists to expect delays and to plan ahead when travelling through the town.
