The children of Wood Farm ‘murder’ victim Phil Breach described him as ‘one in a billion’ man who would help anyone.

The 59-year-old died on Wednesday morning after he was found in a ‘critical condition’ in a park in Wood Farm.

Detectives have charged a 43-year-old man, Liam Jones, of Abingdon Road, Oxford, with his murder.

In a tribute, Mr Breach’s children Daniella, Jordan, Tyler, Laylan and Stacey told the Oxford Mail: “Our dad, Phil, was simply one in a billion.

“You would never find another man like him. He was kind, so, so funny, and would help anyone.

“He never judged anyone no matter if they were homeless, rich or poor; he didn't care.

“He was just the best.”

They said their father had previously been the victim of a hit-and-run accident. Told he would never walk again he ‘defied all odds and was walking independently by the end of his physio’, they said. “He never let anything beat him.”

The children added: “Everyone who knew our dad would comment on what a kind gentle soul he was."

They had been left 'distraught' by their father's death, they said. “RIP dad, you will never be forgotten.”

The family has set up an online fundraising page to raise money to put towards his funeral. The donations page has so far raised £1,200 towards its £3,000 goal.

The money would help give him the ‘send off he truly deserves’, Mr Breach’s children said. “If anyone can donate - even just a pound - we would be so very grateful.”
