FOUR arrests were made in Oxford City Centre yesterday (Saturday, December 3) after about 30 people were involved in a fight.

The incident happened in Bonn Square and as a result, Thames Valley Police have now issued a Section 60 order for multiple streets for 24 hours allowing police officers greater powers to stop and search people.

The order applies roads such as Beaumont Street, George Street, Cornmarket Street, Park End Street, Castle Street and Queen Street.

The order is often put in place by police when they believe, with good reason, that serious violence could take place.

The order began at 8.35pm yesterday and will be in place for 24 hours. If necessary, the order can then be extended.
