A SECTION of the A34 in Oxfordshire will be closed overnight tomorrow for repairs.

National Highways, who is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, said the A34 northbound between Botley Interchange and Peartree Roundabout will be closed tomorrow night (Friday December 2) from 9pm to 6am on Saturday, for bridge repairs at the Wolvercote viaduct.

Drivers will be diverted via the A34 southbound to Hinksey Hill Interchange and follow the Oxford outer ring using the Southern and Eastern By-pass Roads, A40 and A44 to join at Peartree.

A spokesperson for National Highways said: “We’re carrying out some repairs to the Wolvercote viaduct on the A34 near Oxford.

“You may still see us in the area after this date as some of our work can be done without the need of any traffic management or road closures.

“We will need to come back in the New Year to finish our work and will need to close the road again for a few overnight shifts in January.”
