A NURSERY in Grove has received a donation aimed at inspiring the next generation of Lions and Lionesses.

The nursery at Millbrook Primary School received 25 mini-footballs ahead of the FIFA World Cup, which is starting today in Qatar.

Developer David Wilson Homes made the donation to “encourage youngsters’ enthusiasm for the sport” as England prepare for the competition.

Oxford Mail:

Nicky Stanton, nursery manager at Millbrook Primary School, said: “With the World Cup just around the corner and sparking excitement from our children, we thank David Wilson Homes for the timely donation of mini-footballs.

“Children attending Millbrook Nursery will be able to practice their ball-skills and have a kick-about with their friends, encouraging them to be both outside and active.”

The school is close to the housebuilder’s upcoming development at Monks Farm. The 63-acre site was sold to David Wilson Homes and received planning permission in 2021.

Campbell Gregg, managing director at David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “As a leading housebuilder, we aim to support the communities in which we build and this includes helping children to stay active and encourage them to follow in the footsteps of their role models.

“We hope the children who attend the nursery at Millbrook Primary School will enjoy using the footballs throughout the World Cup and continue to show an interest in sport.”
