A PARK in Oxford has been closed off by the police after an incident last night.

About seven police cars currently surround the park just off Wood Farm Road, behind the shops in Atkyns Road and about 10 officers are on the scene.

An eyewitness said: “There was trouble last night but we don’t know anything more about it - the whole park has been closed off.”

Another woman, who lives on Wood Farm Road, said: “Police are in the park and it feels safe now, we try to go about our day and not worry about it.”

The police cordon is currently closing off the entirety of the park. It is believed the area has been closed off since midnight.

The Oxford Mail have asked Thames Valley Police to comment.
