A WEST Midlands man robbed a man of his Mitsubishi at knifepoint on the M40 in August.

Appearing before Oxford Crown Court on Thursday morning, Evans, of Drury Lane, Solihull, pleaded guilty to robbery, possession of a kitchen knife and driving two vehicles while disqualified and without insurance.

Prosecutors say the 31-year-old pulled a knife on his victim then made off in his Mitsubishi ASX Dynamic SUV near junction 11 of the M40 motorway on August 15.

He pleaded not guilty to two counts of dangerous driving. He faces allegations that he drove both a Vauxhall Astra and the stolen Mitsubishi dangerously.

Richard Davies, defending, asked the judge to put the matter back for a week for a mention hearing.

Evans was remanded in custody and will return to court on November 17.
