After a successful 2022 London Marathon, places have now been announced for next years’ race taking place on Sunday, April 23, 2023.

If applicants missed out on a chance to run, they can run with team Oxford Samaritans to raise vital funds for the branch.

In order to take part, runners will have to pledge to raise a minimum of £2,200 (which will go directly to the Oxford Samaritans branch) and have the time to train and prepare to run 26.2 miles. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Successful applicants will receive lots of support from the Central Samaritans team and with regards to fundraising and general support, including on the day.

The local Oxford branch will introduce them to fellow Oxford team members so that they can support each other in the lead up to the iconic event.

Tom, who took part in the 2022 London Marathon on behalf of Oxford Samaritans said: “As someone who has never been much of a runner I knew the 26.2 miles were never going to be easy.

"But with the incredible support on the day, from strangers, family, friends and most importantly the Samaritans family throughout the months building up to it, I knew I could do it - doing the marathon and for Samaritans was the proudest moment of my life.”
