INSPECTORS have launched a survey at HMP Bullingdon ahead of a full inspection of the Bicester prison.
HM Inspectorate for Prisons last reported on Oxfordshire’s only category B prison in 2019, when a third of prisoners said they felt unsafe, over half warned that it was ‘easy’ to acquire drugs in the jail and around 400 lived in ‘overcrowded cells’.
Officials made more than 30 recommendations as a result of that probe. They included using a ‘coordinated plan’ to reduce violence.
Following the announcement of the latest survey, the inspectorate, which is responsible for assessing conditions at all the country’s jails, young offenders’ institutions and immigration detention centres, asked anyone with ‘information’ about Bullingdon to email intel@hmiprisons.gov.uk.
Our researchers are conducting a survey at HMP Bullingdon, at the start of a full inspection.
