The AA Restaurant Guide has named six Oxfordshire restaurants in its 2022 list.
The esteemed guide grants establishments with ‘rosettes’ to award the best quality restaurants up and down the UK
The AA states: “AA Rosettes are solely awarded by our hotel and restaurant Inspectors, and external influences from hotels, restaurants or other guides are not taken into account. About 10% of restaurants nationwide are of a standard that is worthy of one Rosette and above.”
The 2023 edition of the Restaurant Guide is out now, with six Oxfordshire restaurants receiving between three and five rosettes.
The Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons received the only five-rosette award on the list with one receiving four rosettes and four earning three.
This year’s guide noted the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the hospitality industry, noting that establishments continue to face challenges.
It writes: “Restaurants continue to face many challenges, dealing with acute staffing shortages, significant inflation in food prices and other rising operating costs, such as the well documented huge increases in energy bills.
“That’s why it’s so important that we continue to support all these fantastic establishments, whose kitchen and front-of-house teams work so tirelessly to give us such amazing experiences.”
