A trial date has been fixed for a man accused of robbing a driver of his car at knifepoint on the M40.
Christopher Evans, 31, is said by prosecutors to have pulled a knife on his victim before making off in the man’s Mitsubishi ASX Dynamic SUV at junction 11 of the motorway on August 15.
His case was before Oxford Crown Court on Monday morning. Although the defendant, of Drury Lane, Solihull, was not present, Judge Michael Gledhill KC provisionally fixed a three-day trial for February 6 next year.
Evans faces charges of robbery and dangerous driving. He is yet to enter his pleas.
Richard Davies represented the absent defendant, who remains in custody.
The defendant is next due before the crown court on November 4 for a mention hearing.
