CANICE Carroll scored a late header to save Oxford City’s blushes in the Emirates FA Cup.

The former Oxford United player ensured the Hoops would face a replay against Plymouth Parkway.

The Devon side started brightly and saw Rio Garside denied by Ben Dudzinski early on.

Aaron Williams-Bushell then dragged a shot wide for the hosts, and Parkway goalkeeper Kyle Moore stopped Oliver Sanderson from tapping in a low cross.

Moore then denied Klaidi Lolos from inside the six-yard box, before the visitors took the lead eight minutes from time.

A thunderous 25-yard effort from Jack Crago found the top corner in the third qualifying round match.

However, City rescued a replay in Devon tomorrow when Carroll looped in a header in the final minute.

It was a comfortable afternoon for Banbury United as second half goals from Josh Dugmore and Henry Landers got the Puritans through in a 2-0 win at home to Berkhamsted.

Dugmore netted his first goal for the club on 51 minutes when he tapped in after being fed by Alex Babos.

Landers then grabbed his first goal of the season with 66 minutes played.

Berkhamsted goalkeeper Craig Hill connected with Landers’ shot, but was unable to keep it out, as Andy Whing’s side safely made it through to the fourth qualifying round.
