A lorry driver has been arrested after a motorcyclist was left in hospital with serious injuries.

This morning (September 28) at 9.56am emergency services were called to a collision between a lorry and a motorcycle on Horspath Road, at the junction of Roman Way.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his eighties, suffered serious injuries and has been taken to hospital, where he remains.

The driver of the lorry, a 58-year-old man, was not injured and has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving.

He remains in custody at this time.

Investigating officer PC Kate Bishop, of the Thames Valley Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are investigating this incident in which a man has been seriously injured.

“One man has been arrested but we are appealing for anyone with witness information or dash-cam footage to come forward."
