A taxi driver was blasted on social media for parking on a pavement and taking up space.

A photograph of the Royal Cars taxi was anonymously shared to Badly Parked Oxford, a Twitter account set up to document poor parking choices in the city.

The image was shared on the account with the caption: “Why bother parking in the empty car park space when you can instead save walking 3 metres and make life dangerous for nursery school children during the school run?! #antisocialparking #pavementsareforpeople”

In the picture, a taxi can been seen parked in front of Noor Halal in Magdalen Road, blocking a majority of the pavement to pedestrians.

A spokesperson for Royal cars said: “We have already been made aware of this incident and have spoken to the driver who has assured us he will not park like this in the future.

“While we always instruct our drivers to park designated parking spaces, as they are all self-employed, parking issues are not something we get involved in and typically we leave to the relevant authorities to enforce.”
