As the time of the State funeral of the Queen approaches, the streets of Oxford are eerily quiet.
These pictures show a deserted city centre with deckchairs unused at the Westgate Centre.
The death of the Queen and coverage of her funeral is expected to top the ranks of the most-watched broadcasts in British television history.
The audience is expected to be boosted by the day being declared a national bank holiday and the fact that most businesses and shops have closed to allow employees to pay their final respects.
Schools have also closed as a mark of respect.
Some supermarkets have said they will reopen some of their stores after the funeral at 5pm.
