I am amazed at all the whining in connection with free bus passes.
As a pass holder, I think it is completely unnecessary for these passes to be available for us to travel in any city except our own - all the change has done is create higher fares for other users.
Do any of the moaners have children or grandchildren who are now paying higher fares? Well, they are subsidising us!
And why do we have a pass at 60?
When it suits us, 60 is the 'new 50'. But when it comes to freebies, 60 suddenly becomes 'old age'.
