POLICE are trying to trace these three youngsters in connection with a vicious assault in Didcot.

A 16-year-old boy was walking home from school along Station Road at 3pm on Friday, March 14.

He was approached by a group of about five youngsters and punched in the face causing a broken cheekbone and facial injuries, which needed nine stitches.

Police today released the CCTV images of three youths they believe they were in the area at the time and may have information on what happened.

Det Con Rachel Carter said: "I am keen to speak to the men in the pictures and urge for them, or anyone who recognises them, to contact me.

"This was an unprovoked attack and it resulted in the victim sustaining a broken cheekbone and other injuries to his face which required nine stitches and I hope that these men can help me with my investigation."

A 19-year-old man, from Didcot, has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and been released on bail until May 27.
