SIMON Stone suggests that pensioners should stop whingeing about problems with their bus passes (Oxford Mail, April 10).

Let them whinge if they want to - they have been around longer than I have, and have seen more cockups by the council than I have.

They have the right to whinge.

If I were old enough, I am sure I would be whingeing as well if, like Peter Collett and his wife, I had had to wait all that time in the council office, Maybe we should all start respecting the elderly more.
