I refer to Peter Challis's letter, Axing buses is 'improvement' (Oxford Mail, March 31).
Passengers on the No 10 bus have had to endure several weeks of upheaval at Templars Square before being made aware of the reason for this - a turning point for the buses.
The No 10-10A service always turned at that stop before Rymers Lane and Littlehay Road had a service at all.
The obvious answer to Littlehay Road and Rymers Lane passengers is to have a single-decker bus during the day between 9.30am and 3pm.
A minibus would be sufficient, judging by the few passengers between those times.
Not only would it be better for the residents of these roads, it might encourage the young mums with buggies to walk the often short distances for which they use the bus.
The U10 double-deckers, which are used only in the late evening and at weekends, are not necessary. A minibus would do the job.
There are seldom more than eight or 10 people on this service at these times.
The only time the bus is full is when several previous buses haven't turned up.
This new service will once again encourage car owners to join the queues into town and towards the ring road.
