Brian Lester ought to do his research before he commits pen to paper (Oxford Mail, March 28).
Oxfordshire County Council does not close its offices on the day after Bank Holidays in the same way that the city council does.
Our offices are open and, indeed, many of our officers (fire and rescue, social care etc) provide a 24-hour-a-day service on most if not all days of the year.
Each and every one of those people will be offended by the lazy, ill-founded criticism contained in Mr Lester's letter.
