Passengers fed up with train delays heard a completely new excuse on the Cotswold Line - a shed on the track.
A Great Malvern to London train was delayed for 45 minutes after strong winds blew a large field shelter on to the line just east of Charlbury station.
One commentator on the town's community website, Charlbury.info, noted: "As far as I recall, not even Reginald Perrin managed 'garden shed on the line'! He would have relished FGW."
The 1970s TV sitcom character, played by the late Leonard Rossiter, came up with a series of far-fetched excuses as to why his commuter train was delayed.
Firefighters were called to move the shelter off the track at 2.15pm on Saturday.
