STAFF at Oxford's pioneering Helen and Douglas House hospice are celebrating after a Royal concert for its 25th anniversary celebrations swelled its coffers by more than £10,000.
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, who is patron of the hospice, were the guests of honour at the concert at St John's, in London's Smith Square.
Hospice founder Sister Frances Dominica, pictured welcoming the royal couple, said: "It was a fabulous evening and a wonderful culmination of all the events marking our 25th anniversary.
"It was such an honour and delight to have the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall with us and so many friends and people who have brought their children to Helen and Douglas House, and people who have supported us in so many ways."
Douglas House guest Laura Merry, 19, from Berkshire, presented a posy of flowers to the Duchess.
She said: "The concert was fantastic. I was a bit nervous but they were both really friendly. The Duchess of Cornwall remembered my name because her daughter is called Laura too."
