Repair work costing an estimated £150,000 is set to start on Oxford's historic Castle Mound.
Last February, there were a series of landslips on the New Road side of the 11th century mound and safety fencing was erected along the pavement.
Protective sheets were placed on top of the mound to prevent rain from seeping in and causing more damage.
The landmark was closed to the public for a short time before being reopened.
Council contractors will begin repairs on Tuesday and the project is expected to take three months.
