Full marks to Oxfordshire County Council for at least considering taking over some of our threatened post offices.

It is clear that the threatened wave of closures planned by postal bosses will disrupt life for many people.

The weight of public opinion is clearly in favour of saving many of the post offices.

The move for councils to take over the services is gaining momentum in various parts of the country, so why not Oxfordshire?
