More than £1,500 was collected at the funeral service of Wantage councillor Jim Moley, who died suddenly in January, aged 70.
Hundreds of mourners filled Wantage Parish Church for the funeral and a total of £1,557 was collected, which will be donated to the Wantage Silver Band in his memory.
Mr Moley was president of the band for more than 16 years and was a town, district and county councillor. Band chairman Eleanor Turner said: "This will go to our building fund for a new hall for the band and community use. I think Jim would have been very pleased."
