A parish council election is set to go ahead - despite only one candidate standing.
Emma Philcox is standing alone for a seat on the Shenington with Alkerton Parish Council after rival Nick De Silva pulled out.
Cherwell District Council was unable to cancel Thursday's election because Mr De Silva's withdrawal came after the required deadline for candidatures.
Ballot papers have been printed and about £800 will be spent staging the poll, which will include a final count.
